At a glance:

Mount Nazareth Learning Center, as part of The Community at Holy Family Manor, Inc., is a nonprofit agency committed to creating communities of love and hope in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Our mission is to support and nurture families by providing a broad spectrum of services designed to empower them to fulfill their role in church and society.

The administration and staff at the Center believe that EACH child is a special person. We pledge ourselves to support the total development of each child according to Gospel principles and the psychological and intellectual philosophies underlying authentic child growth. Adhering to these principles, we believe that our care, support and instructions can ultimately enhance the families from which these children come.

When Mt. Nazareth Academy closed in June, 1971, the Community of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth conducted a survey throughout the surrounding area to determine the needs of the area regarding the possibility of working with children.  This resulted in the opening of our Day Care Center, which seemed to be the greatest and utmost need.

Sister Florence Therese Sarnowski, CSFN, became the first Director and undertook the project.  Mt. Nazareth Learning Center opened in September, 1971, The Program consisted of Pre K 3, Pre k 4 and Kindergarten.  In 1996, on the Feast of the Guardian Angels, October 2nd, the Infant Room was established.  It did not take too long before the Program expanded to receive Toddlers.

At present, the Program consists of:

– Infants
– Toddler 1
– Toddler 2
– Pre K 3
– Pre K 4

There are approximately 190 children at the Mount Nazareth Learning Center.

In addition to the regular program, we provide an 8-week Summer Camp for our former children ages 6-12 to participate in an exciting fun-filled experience.

The entire staff is presently working toward attaining Star 3 with the Keystone Stars Program.

Our Center is well known throughout the area, which makes it unnecessary to advertize opening in the usual manner through newspaper and flyers. Our parents are the best advertisers to their neighbors, friends and co-workers. Parents tell us that they know that their children are loved at our Center.
