Dear Friends of Nazareth,
The Virgin Mary believed the Archangel’s words, although they seemed improbable. She believed that all things are possible with God.
Blessed Mary of Jesus the Good Shepherd (Frances Siedliska), Foundress, Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth
Who better than the Virgin Mary epitomizes the ideal of trust in God? Who more than she, especially at this special time of the year, can better serve as our role model? She who faced unbelievable and often difficult events in her life trusted God enough to do all that He asked of her.
Our sisters, throughout their religious lives, have held Mary before them as their role model – emulating her total acceptance of God’s will. With every ministry they undertook throughout their lives, they did as God asked them.
A number of these sisters are now retired, still living the simple, prayerful lives that characterized their earlier days of active ministry.
But all of our senior sisters continue to follow the example of Mary by doing all that God asks in ways that they still are able: by being loving and attentive to one another, by driving their fellow sisters to doctor appointments, by assisting their sisters in nursing homes and always, always by praying for our hurting world and for you, our benefactors.
At this special time of year we ask you to consider making a gift in support of these sisters. They’ve lived their entire lives ministering to others . . . caring for and praying for those in need. Now in their 80s, 90s and even 100s, they have critical needs themselves.
It’s so important to us that these senior, and often fragile, women receive the care they need so their remaining years may be spent in peace and dignity. Our Christmas Appeal provides the necessary funds that enable us to do this.
Each time we’ve reached out for your help to support them, you’ve been there. We count on you and there are no words to express just how grateful we are for you.
All of our sisters will be very thankful for any gift you can make! Your kindness will be remembered daily in their prayers.
On behalf of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, we wish you, and all whom you hold dear, a Christmas filled with the wonder of the birth of Jesus and a New Year overflowing with the blessings of the Holy Family.
Gratefully in prayer,
Sister Barbara Jean Wojnicki, CSFN, Provincial Superior
Katherine Barth, Director of Development
